Passy / Plateau d'Assy
Next to the Fontenay is the Sixt-Passy nature reserve. Home of the Bearded Vulture, it is the ideal place for hikers, walkers, trailers and nature lovers.
Plaine-Joux resort
Ideally located at 2 kilometres from the Fontenay, this family resort offers a unique panorama of the Mont-Blanc and all its peaks. Little known to the general public, it is a place for skiing all day long in a dream setting, without the rush found in commercial resorts.
The desert of Platé
In the Fiz massif, surrounded by the Giffre and Arve valleys, the Platé desert faces Mont Blanc. A limestone plateau of 1980 hectares, it is composed mostly of lapiaz dug by glaciers and meltwater. Listed since 1998 for its exceptional landscape, the Platé desert attracts and surprises thanks to its extraordinary appearance. It's like "walking on a petrified glacier", "on the moon"...
The Tour of Fiz
Hiking or trail riding, leisure or competition, dozens of kilometres of marked trails to discover the Fiz chain.
Le Fontenay was a partner of the 9th edition of the Trail du Tour des Fiz which took place on July 30, 2017.
For the 10 years of the race, we will be partner again. See you on July 29, 2018!
The reserve and Passy lake
A few steps from the Fontenay is the Sixt-Passy nature reserve. A real treat for nature lovers.
In summer, you can also swim at the Passy leisure centre. For the bravest, there are always the rapids formed by melting snow.
